Das Daito Ryu (one may call the base of Kokodo and all the other Aikido and Aiki Ju Jutsu stiles) was the school of the long time most successful families in feudal Japan.
\nIn the 19th century his school was transferred to the very gifted swordsman Takeda Sokaku who was at that time also the bodyguard of the head of Daito Ryu Minamoto Yoshimitsu weitergegeben, who altered and improved the system, opened a dojo and thaught Daito Ryu Aiki Ju Jutsu.<\/p>\n
Two of his pupils where Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido and Ryuho Okuyama the founder of Hakko Ryu.<\/p>\n

Hakko Ryu (die school of the eight light) an adaption and imptoveness of Daito Ryu by Ryuho Okuyama. He travelled aditionally to his training in Daito Ryu a lot through Japan to perfection his art and get knowledge in othe martial arts. Okuyama also mastered ngg_shortcode_0_placeholderMeridiantheraphy and Shiatsu (Finger pressure treatment) and added it to his fighting art. at teh age of 40 he left Daito Ryu and founded his own school of Hakko Ryu.<\/p>\n

\nHe started his own style of Jiu Jitsu by embedding the Aiki principle (to face the attacker’s power with a suitable force by adapting to the attack not counter against it).
\nHis aim was to create with the help of a traditional martial art a modern and contemporary Budo system.
\n1990 Soke Irie opdened his Kokodo Klinik for Shiatsu and accupuncture.
\n1995 started his own Dojo in the style of Kokodo Ju Jutsu and is so the first (Shodai) Soke (founder) of Kokodo Jiu Jitsu.<\/p>\n![\"kokodokyushinkai\"](\"http:\/\/www.kokodo-jujutsu.at\/dojo\/wp-content\/gallery\/flags\/kokodokyushinkai.gif\")
\nKokodo Kyu Shin Kai (the school of understanding the heart of KokoDo)is a worldwide organization by Kokodo Dojos.
\nIt was founded by three Shihans that wanted to go the same way to combine values like friendship,respect and harmony with the way of the traditional Ju Jutsu.
\nIt was founded at march 30th 2005 to teach and spread the art of KokoDo in the style of Soke Irie.
\nTo reach that goal they train on regular basis at the Hombu Dojo in Japan, do seminars (Tai Kais) and occasionally also hold trainings all over the world.
\nThe founders are (fromright to left) Etienne Beynaerts Hanshi, Ivo Belmans So-hanshi and Erik Melotte Hanshi<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"http:\/\/www.kokodo-jujutsu.at\/dojo_en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/829674e2-8cb8-456c-9dec-f189d535085b.png\")
<\/a>2026 the organization renamed itself into Daiko Kyu Shin Kai umbenannt, the heart of the radient light.
\nThis is intended to express that the heart and original Waza of Irie Soke should be preserved, which can be transmitted by the high-ranking Shihans.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
\nFrom the founders in 2026 Soke promoted Ivo to So-Hanshi, Erik Melotte and Etienne Beynaerts to Hanshi .
\nFrom the other high ranking Shihans of the der organization Luc Cast\u00e9l was promoted to Hanshi,Ivan Micheaux and Danny Currinckx were promoted to Kyoshi .<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
